PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY TO ALL CONCERNED COMMUNITIES (minutes of meeting attached)

Dear community members and friends of the late Millicent Agola Owala, the outpouring of your love, prayers, condolences and support is greatly appreciated by her family.  On Saturday, October 19, 2013, a community meeting was held at the Owalas home at 19 Brandy Lane, Newmarket.  The purpose of the meeting was to determine the needs of her family, and funeral arrangements.  Please, find attached the complete minutes of the meeting of Saturday, October 19, 2013.  The highlights are the following

*Millicent Agola Owala will be laid to rest in Canada

*Possible dates of funeral is Friday, November 8, 2013 or Sunday, November 10, 2013. To be confirmed by the end of this week

-Funeral planning will closely involve family, Elders of Apple Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church, staff and students of Richmond Green SS and community

*Prisca Ogweno, Millicent's mother will travel to Canada for the burial of her daughter.  Arrangements for visa is under way. Apple Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church will pay for airfare, estimated at $2500

*Community Fundraising is underway. 

-Staff, students and Parents of Richmond Green Secondary School are fundraising in the school.

-General Community fundraising is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Uganda Martyrs United Church of Canada (Riverside-Emery United Church), 2799 Weston Rd, Toronto, ON, M9M 2R8 - (Major intersection Weston and 401). The event will start at 5:00 sharp. You are strongly encouraged to arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.  Further communication about the community fundraiser is forthcoming

*A bank account will be opened by end of day Monday, October 21, 2013 and number communicated for community contributions including electronic contributions.  Account will be converted into Trust as soon as Death Certificate is obtained
