The scantily known Jayesh Domalia aka Vijay is said to have booked 24 rooms at the hotel before requesting management to serve him and his guests as well as cleaning their clothes.
The unsuspecting hotel management eager to make money, did as Vijay had asked them to do. They are now regretting doing business with this man.
By the time he fled from the hotel on August 6, 2016 following a three-month stay, the con guest had piled a total of Ushs60m in debt.
But the hotel administration managed to trace the Indian up whereupon he wrote a statement at Kabalagala police station accepting liability. The confession was entered under police file number SD46/05/08/2015.
"It is now apparent that the Indian confessed in order to earn back his freedom. He has since went back on his commitment to clear the lodging debt he incurred," a source at the hotel lamented.
Meanwhile, the MD of the hotel, singer Angella Katatumba has resorted to courts of law to claim what belong to her. She is filing the case through Abaine, Buregyeya and company advocates.
In her written statement, Angella recalls how Vijay and his people would order for rice, chapatti and what have you.
"We duly served the defendants as per his instructions, but he did not pay for the services rendered," Angella regrets. She notes that since the hotel has all the invoices for the services rendered, court should not let Vijay waste it's time asking to be heard, but the judges should instead direct him to pay right away.
We were unable to establish the exact physical address of Vijay. We tried to speak to him via his known phone contact 0755976657, but no one picked our calls.
