An 11-year-old girl's genius response on a school feedback form has earned her online fame.

Ava, who is the daughter of Mason Cross, was asked to give feedback on her teacher for an end-of-year review and said she took issue with his use of 'collective punishment'.

When asked what her teacher could do better, Ava, from Glasgow, wrote: 'Not use collective punishment as it is not fair on the many people who did nothing and under the 1949 Genva (sic.)  Conventions it is a war crime.'

Mason, an author, shared a picture of her ingenious answer online, writing: 'My daughter actually submitted this feedback at school. Not sure if I should ground her or buy her ice cream.'

Mason shared a picture of his daughter's hilarious response to her school feedback school and watched as his tweet quickly went viral with more than 122,000 responses

What are the Geneva Conventions?

The Geneva Conventions are a set of humanitarian rules and treaties that apply in times of armed conflict.

According to Article 33, 'No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed'.

Many praised Ava for 'thinking her mind' while one person suggested she should be awarded 'bonus points for her creative thinking and excellent example'.

One even called for the youngster to be the next Prime Minister.

Crime writer Mason, who wrote the critically acclaimed Carter Blake thriller series, told Femail: 'I thought [the online response] was really funny and absolutely typical of Ava, who I haven't manage to best in an argument since she turned six.

'Apparently her teacher was amused too. I think we owe him some ice cream!'

He later tweeted a picture of the youngster enjoying not one but two cones.
