For the first century of existence, Islam was totally blood soaked. killings slowed down in the 8th century as the Islamic empire ran into boundaries in the 8th, after about a century of expansionist, imperialist, unprovoked Islamic aggression. But even after the expansion slowed, the killings still did not end. Slaughter (jihad) and oppression (sharia) are part of the core ideologies of Islam. Killing is not a modern idea, and it will will not end until a reformation happens in the religion. Medieval Christianity was also violent, but Christianity reformed. For countless years now, Islam has been the most violent religion in the world.
