{UAH} REALITY SHOW

M7 TO STAND IN 2021
Brothers and sisters, l have been on Bukedde TV I, TV y'omuntu wa
bulijjo, this morning with Rogers Mulindwa of NRM and Paul Mwiru of
FDC moderated by Charles Serugga Matovu.
We have commented on many issues, but where l have broken from my
colleagues and declared that l would be a realist, was to tell them
and the audience that there is no doubt that President Yoweri Museveni
will seek another term in 2021.
Unlike the likes of Julius Nyerere, Ali Hassan Mwinyi, Ben Mkapa,
Jakaya Kikwete, Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki and others, Museveni did not
rise to power on a silver plate. Museveni spear headed a protracted
people's war, and the West was not very amused. So to avoid any chance
of ICC indictment, our president should remain in power unless the
people vote against him. So age limits will, of course, be removed at
the opportune moment by parliament and the people in a referendum.
Starting with Omar Hassan El Bashir of the Sudan and Uhuru Kenyatta of
Kenya, AU is vehemently opposed to indictment of sitting presidents
and led by South Africa, ALMOST withdraw from ICC.
What the rest of us should do is what do we share from the national
cake but the Presidency is ring fenced for some time.
Furthermore, l compared Dr. Kizza Besigye to Prince nuuhu Kyabasinga
Mbogo, whom the Muslims had proclaimed Kabaka, but being a realist, he
made peace with Capt. Lugard and was given pension and land.
Even when Muslims mutinied against the British, he sided with the
British though temporarily exiled and was returned as Prince Regent.
There is also Stanislaus Mugwanya whom the Roman Catholics wanted to
be Katikkiro. He knew realist and only stopped at being Co Katikkiro,
Regent and Chief Judge, and acquired a lot of land.
So Besigye has given out, but unlike Paul Ssemogerere and Nasser
Ssebaggala who handed over their support to him in 2001
unconditionally, for him in 2015, refused to do the same to Amama
Mbabazi. Probably if Mbabazi had got what Besigye got, may have struck
a power sharing deal with the President.
So Besigye will sink with the opposition.
Ramadhan and Juma kareem, good weekend. Let's meet on Dream TV this
evening from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm, where main topics shall be endless
outbreak of fires in Kampala, and bye elections in Upper Madi and
Kyaddondo East.
Juma and Ramadhan mubarak, good weekend. Stay tuned.
