{UAH} Far too many People of Color, especially Muslims, confuse and conflate political activism with trying to be part of an elite insider club.

Being liked by the 'right,' popular and prominent people, and befriending them, instead of genuine social justice reform, becomes the objective. Which in fact, undermines the mission of bringing about progressive and radical reform - especially for the most vulnerable and marginalized 'outsider' groups.

Social justice ain't about social conformity and acceptance. Never was, never will be. Those who prioritize the latter aren't genuinely committed to radical reform, and are easier to point out than a penguin in the Sahara.

That's why I feel like many of those conferences that cost over a hundred to attend really don't do much but repeat the things they say without even involving those not in their social circles and their social classes. I once went to a Uganda American conference and brought that point up with the friends I attended with because I saw how pretty wealthy or well off everyone there seemed. It was very elitist to me and I never went back to another conference because 1) I can't afford it 2) it seems like people go to brag about themselves and not really involve those most economically disenfranchised. People from Uganda come with their own private missions which I cant mention here. My personal opinion though
