{UAH} POLICE FORCED ME TO ACCEPT THAT I MURDERED KAWEESI- SUSPECT TELLS COURT

By Deogratious Male

Jibril Kalyango who is one of the 20 jailed suspects in the murder of former police spokesman AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi has informed Nakawa magistrates court that he was forced by police to sign a confession statement indicating that he was one of the assassins who committed the gruesome murders.

On his appearance before Nakawa grade one magistrate Noah Sajjabbi to know the stage of investigations in the matter, Kalyango asked court to drop the confessional statement put against him because it is full of lies, however the magistrate informed him that the magistrate court has no powers to hear his claims thereby advising him to seek redress when the matter is forwarded to high court for trial.

The magistrate further extended mention of the matter until 24th August following the state prosecutor Carol Napia to inform that investigations in the matter are still underway.

Kaweesi was gunned down by unknown assailants alongside his bodyguard and driver on the eve of 17th March at Kulambiro and ever since, many people have been arrested and some produced to court.
