{UAH} Message from ‘Kawempe Republic’ to Uganda Police

By Feni Job

The self proclaimed 'President' of 'Kawempe Republic' H. E Walakira Hamiidu Luutu has written to Uganda Police explaining why they had to "break" away from Uganda.

The undated letter addressed to the Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima is a reply to the Police "communique concerning the formation of Kawempe Republic."

Luutu in the letter explained that they broke easy from Uganda because it has become lawless.

"You will agree with all ugandans that everyone in this country has decided to do what pleases him or her at the expense of the so many suffering ugandans," Luutu explained.

He claimed that president Museveni recently spent billions of shillings to enable him stay in power at the expense of many unemployed youth's in Uganda.

"For example, the president of Uganda spent 300B (this could create over 10,000 casual jobs to our people) to give him life presidency," Luutu claimed.

" MPs have themselves 7 years instead of the 5 years which they asked from the electorates in 2016 elections," he continued.

Mr. Luutu also cited tribalism at it's peak as the events unfold.

" All these vices happening at a time where one's name qualifies him/her for a Job in Uganda. In an event that you lack a specific type of name, no employment opportunity in Uganda. Kawempe division offices are full of people who come from only one region, and yet it's not Kawempe, forgetting that the people in Kawempe have the same skills yet unemployed," Mr Luutu noted.

"As young people living in Kawempe, we decided to also take over Kawempe and declear it an independent Republic," he stated.

He also observed that Uganda have turned to law breakers instead focus on keeping Museveni in power.

" The Ugandan Police ceased to to maintain law and order in Uganda and instead now focuses on maintaining life presidency which is evidently against the will of ugandans," he observed.

He also refuted claims by Kayima linking their " patriotic endeavor" to Mbabazi's set up which he turned "fake".

"You are tagging our patriotic endeavor with fake Mbabazi's set up groups of Uganda Poor Youth Movement. This cause is fully supported by the patriotic people living in Kawempe," he noted.

Further more Mr Luutu asked police to release those that where arrested without any charges.

"We aslo urge you to release the innocent youth that you are keeping in the feel without any case file opened up against them," he called upon Kayima.

"We are moving forward and we shall move forward" he concluded.

Recently a group of youth's from Kawempe decleared the county independent from Uganda die to unemployment.

Mr Luutu the leader of the move a day ago established his cabinet awaiting to be sworn in.
