{UAH} Pojim/Allan/Gook/Ocen/WBK: Jubilee MP blames Uhuru for the dramatic arrest of MP Alfred Keter

WBK;

Before you continue to peruse through the story below; Senator Murkomen has issued a presser "Uhuru Has Sidelined The Kalenjin Community" as follows:
"The truth of the matter is that the cabinet that was presented to Kenyans by the President in not hwat we had agreed on as Jubilee party and does not reflect the interest of the Kalenjin community. How can Ababu Namwamba, Eugene Wamalwa and Ken Lusaka get bigger positions yet we did not form an alliance with Luhyas? Their supporters were in NASA. Our people participated heavily in the formation of this government and they expect more than what they have been given so far.

The Deputy President has been silent on this matter and personally I think he should come out clearly and give his direction. Yesterday Keter was arrested and till now we don't know where he was taken. All these Keter issues has something to do with succession politics and we want to tell the President that Kalenjin people are not happy. When Babu Owino was arrested  we saw Sakaja going to release him. How comes the same Sakaja is silent on Keter issue yet we claim to be members of one party?"

- Kiren and Keter were dared to quit the Jubilee party alongside three others for vying for committee leadership positions against the party's wishes
- The Nandi hills MP was arrested on Friday, February 16 for allegedly forging treasury bills worth KSh 633 million Moiben Member of Parliament (MP), Silas Tiren, on Friday, February 16 blamed President Uhuru Kenyatta for the arrest of Nandi hills MP, Alfred Keter on the same day.

The legislator claimed that Keter was arrested for his defiance of President Uhuru Kenyatta over the sharing of parliamentary positions alongside four others.

"My best bet is that he was arrested for disagreeing with the party on house positions," said Tiren.

Jubilee MP blames Uhuru for the dramatic arrest of MP Charles Keter. The Moiben MP was speaking to journalists in Eldoret after the arrest of Keter when he raised concerns over the state of democracy in the country at the moment.

"If we are going to be targeted for defending public interests how are we expected to discharge our duties as duly elected representatives of the people. " he added. He went on to demand the immediate release of Keter saying that there are legal avenues of solving what he termed as "disagreements". "We demand the immediate release of Keter and if they (government) are charging him with anything let them take him to court," added Tiren.

A defiant and rebellious Keter was arrested on the morning of Friday, February 16 at Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) offices for allegedly forging treasury bills worth KSh 633 million. TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Alfred Keter was among three people arrested by officers from the Anti-banking fraud unit. Sakwa and Chatur, the directors of Desai Industries Limited, and Keter, presented the forged bills purporting to have been issued by the government in 1990.

TUKO.co.ke has established that the fiery MP's current troubles could potentially cripple his political career forever. Keter is also at loggerheads with his own party bosses who recently ordered for him to be kicked out of House leadership position where he was the chairman of Labour Committee. Jubilee party members had dared the five rebel MPs who were ejected from House committee leadership positions to quit the party if they are unhappy.
