[UAH] Developing tourism in Bunyoro-Kitara;minister meets kingdom delegation

The Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon.Maria Mutagamba, today, May 16, 2013, met a Bunyoro-Kitara ministerial delegation at her office, at Farmers house, Kampala and hey discussed plans for the development of the tourism industry in the kingdom. The kingdom delegation, led by the Minister of Torusim and Trade in the kingdom, Hon. Philip Katohoire presented Hon. Maria Mutagamba, with the kingdom's tourism development proposals. These included development of the kingdom's cultural sites which are scattered all over the kingdom.
The kingdom proposed to renew the system whereby both sides worked hand in hand in the development of the cultural sites and the kingdom gets a share of the royalties
Hon. Mutagamba specifically asked the kingdom delegation to present concrete plans for the development and modernisation of the kingdom's most important tourisim.attraction site, the HOIMA-MPARO ROYAL BURIAL GROUNDS on which is burried a number of kings including the world-famous king Kabaleega.
HOIMA-MPARO ROYAL BURIAL GROUND is an historic one being the one where Omukama Kabaleega had built his last military command when he  resisted British colonialism. It was his last capital and this is where he met German explorer Emin Pasha.
The Minister asked the Bunyoro-Kitara delegation to compile all the cucltural sites the kingdom knows and they present propsals on how to develo pthem into modern tourism attraction.
The kingdom delegation also asked the Minister to  support  the kingdom's next month's Trade and Culture Expo to be staged at Boma Ground in Hoima Town. At this Expo the kingdom will display trade and cultural development projects.
Hon. Mutagamba proposed to the kingdom delegation to work hand in hand with other Trade and Cultural Expo arrangements being organised by other districts in the country.
