[UAH] Omukama Iguru - Demands Bunyoro Artefacts from Britain
Omukama Iguru in his address at the Convention Of Transforming Bunyoro 19-23 May 2013, demanded that Britain return the artefacts stolen from the kingdom during the colonial era, which include the royal throne. He said some of the artefacts are at Pitt Rives Museum in Oxford University. According to the New Vision reporters (27.05.13), Omukama Iguru visited the museum 2 yrs ago on July 19, 2011. According to Iguru, the throne that was looted in 1894 by the British, is symbol of the kingdoms unity. The throne is unique and has 9 legs which are shaped like fingers and stand for Unity. It symbolises unity as the foundation of the Kingdom. The convention the first ever held by church leaders on the transfirmation of Bunyoro kingdim attracted over 2000 participants and was held at St. Peter's Cathedral in Duhaga, Hoima town. It aimed at dedicating the kingdom to God and deliberating on the role that Christian leaders have to play in driving Bunyoro region into prosperity in line with the roadmap of Vision 2040. The convention also aimed at helping the Bunyoro Kingdom regain its past Glory.
