African Union is a useless body whose view does not matter

 
 
 

I have read your story on President Museveni attacking the West over Libya. My view is that African leaders are out of touch with reality. Whether the African Union (AU) recognises Libya's Transitional National Council or not, what matters is that the people of Libya recognise the fact that they are free. The AU is such a useless and toothless organisation after all! So, if the body does not recognise the new order in Libya, that does not matter.

The way I see it, the AU leaders who have clung onto power for too long are realising that they will be next and they are trying to protect themselves by not allying with the people of Libya. The storm of change is coming and whether African dictators like it or not, the revolution has started.
