[UAH] FW: OUBS News - Change Management Masterclass, insight questionnaire and Africa Project

For alumni of the Open University. I am really excited about the Africa Project and the invitation from my old University to join the mentoring  scheme as a mentee, helping current students achieve their goals at  the University. And also to travel to Paris to meet up with other alumni.

I encourage people here to take up courses at the University, they are not very expensive, you don't have to attend lectures or sit in a lecture room. You study completely on your own, with help from an on-line tutor. And you can study from anywhere in the world.

OUBS News - Change Management Masterclass, insight questionnaire and Africa Project
OUBS News The Open University
June 2013

Dear George,

Welcome to our June newsletter.

There is still time to register for the Change Management Masterclass, our next event in the Business Perspectives series on 11 July in London. We will present you with an interactive day, looking at a wide range of key factors in successful implementation of strategic change. Meanwhile, we would appreciate if you take a short questionnaire to help inform discussions at the event.

In this month's career hub, we hear from mentee Natalie Ker Watson who talks about her experience of the alumni mentoring service and why you should get involved too.

And if you are working in Africa or with African companies, do get in touch with Francis Cattermole who is leading a new Africa Project to help develop African managers.

We hope you enjoy this edition and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

Alumni help still needed for Africa Project

OUBS academics Francis Cattermole and Professor Rob Paton are delighted with the interest that OUBS alumni have shown in the Africa Project introduced in last month's newsletter. It is a great opportunity for the OU to engage in sustainable management development and the support of our alumni is very encouraging.

This initiative is to develop a programme to meet the capacity building needs of management development in Africa. It can help to develop African managers run African companies and companies in Africa.

Francis (francis.cattermole@open.ac.uk) would be delighted to hear from anyone with connections to companies in Africa who would like to explore with us how best to develop their African managers.
