[UAH] SHE MAY BE THE BEST FRONT-DESK OFFICER IN AFRICA
The receptionist at the South Sudan high commission in Kampala, Uganda
is one everyone should interact with atleast once in their life. There
may be no other in the whole of Africa. Her touch with clients is just
a class apart and there is no reason to believe she discriminates.
With a fair African skin, she makes one feel her politeness and
special concern treat for their case like its her own.
A while back i needed a visa to South Sudan (to go hunt Ladit Kony).
When i delivered my passport it was late in the afternoon. She advised
me to return early the next day. That's what i did. She admitted my
documents, took me through the filling-in and asked me to return the
next day. But later that day, i changed my mind about the trip to
consider other business within Uganda, first. I didn't go back for the
passport till after some weeks.
Instantly, she recognized me and wondered what had occurred to me that
i didn't return for my papers. I told her something came up. This lady
told me the passport was locked up in a certain office and advised
that i check again later and each time i did she would try her best.
When finally she got it, it indicated the visa had been granted and i
therefore had to pay up. She was sympathetic that i had to got to the
bank and offered to do so for me. We concluded with me depositing the
dollars at her desk so she passes them on for banking.
I found her very clean and personal in her ways.
