Uganda as a nation state is now but only in name! Buganda Kingdom steal believes?
Kampala Stock Exchange – this came with a bang. But just over the years it is a true reflection of the dire condition into which Uganda's economy is found. Not more than fifteen (one five) Uganda companies are listed. I wonder what stockbrokers are making money from! Never mind that companies can get free money on stock exchange – however Ugandans go to banks to borrow at 24% rather than opening up their company books to public scrutiny that comes with listing.
Uganda Police – let alone being one of the most corrupt, and lowest paid, the nature of the disease afflicting this force is now epidemic. One might expect police men and women who have earned something from traffic offences to CID and station officers by killing off cases but alas the more they steal from their equally poor fellow citizens the sweeter it is working in the police force. Not so many run away from this force – they have learnt a survival trickster. My own experience with Uganda Police over the past 7 working years in Uganda is shockingly disturbing.
Uganda legislature – has become a laughing stock, where some MPs, the more silent they are the merrier they earn their 15 millions a month. This law making body can attempt to pass laws i.e. take over of Kampala City, Divorce and Marriage bill only if they can be paid 5 millions! Common Sense is rarest – heavens forbid what how Africans understand what democracy means – but this house is also a sign of yet very serious matter at hand and what the future holds.
Uganda Investment Authority - has withdrawn some 180 Celebrated Investor Land Titles – Investors neither exist nor are investors but just self-seekers described least as land speculators. Investors are a fantasy so to say or had never been there in reality but air or ghosts!
District Land Boards or Executive and Ministerial Land Board? Call them what you want and the law that established them, has been overtaken by "this is not a mere change of guards but a fundamental change". Ministerial as well as executive directives have fallen on deaf ears. Twatera Embudduers – have the upper hand, the law can take back stage as more and more people are becoming landless, displaced by the almighty landlords – the Baganda absent landlords! And imagine, some peasants, the bibajja holders in Ssembabule, Bugerere etc., disappear under the watchful eyes of the police.
Hospital and Health System in a mess – as they preserve oxygen for the most needy and medical stores bust with medical unused drugs, the most needy sickly even in religious hospitals are sent quickly to heaven to meet their creator – doctors are the judges than protector of lives. Such cases – can be handled here on earth.
Education System – if you are well facilitated in terms of extorting or stealing, then take your children to International Schools, or British Universities. The idea behind is total collapse of public education system, your daughter can open her legs wide and earn a first class, a male student be pocket friendly as Makarere enter the genius world record with record breaking first class degrees. As it so happened in Kyambogo, all staff members fighting a Vice Chancellor fighting the Vice as 5 billion tuition fees disappear in thin air in posh bungalows and luxury four wheel drive. Uganda has developed not at 6% per annum. And the Inspector General of Government too is also challenged on her own legal notes. Despicable ?
