General Mustafa Adrisi a former Vice President of Uganda has died at the age of 91.
Adris died Sunday morning at Mulago hospital where he had been admitted with hypertension, diabetes and a fracture in his right leg. Arua RDC Maj Ibrahim Abiriga confirmed the news in a telephone call to the New Vision.

Adrisi served as Vice President of Uganda between 1977–1978, and he was one of president Idi Amin's closest associates. In 1978, after Adrisi was injured in a suspicious auto accident, troops loyal to him mutinied.
Amin sent troops against the mutineers, some of whom had fled across the Tanzanian border, eventually leading to the Uganda-Tanzania War.
In the late 1990s, Mustafa Adrisi was living quietly in Arua, West Nile, in a house provided by thegovernment, and had recently gone back to complete his primary school certificate.
