3.In June 1979, President Lule was overthrown and there were demonstrations in Kampala. Andrew Kayiira addresses a rally about it.Those demonstrations are memorable. Masses of unarmed civilians poured onto the streets of Kampala, singing and chanting "twagalaLule tetwagala Binaisa" translated as "we want Lule not Binaisa" who has been imposed on the people by the military commission. One group would shout twagala Lule and others reply tetwagala Binaisa. The order from the military commission was to 'shoot-to-kill' demonstrators. Several unarmed people were shot dead and scores seriously injured.
