Museveni Blames Youth "Laziness" For Namungona Accident

President Yoweri Museveni has Monday visited Mulago Referral Hospital where he promised financial support to the families of the Namungona fire victims.

He said that this is going to start immediately after the government has finished assessing and identifying the right number of families affected.

 

Museveni, who visited the victims who are still admitted, went further and sent his condolence message to the families of the deceased.

 

The President blamed "laziness among the youth which has led them into problems."

 

He accused youth of putting much of their time in non-profitable businesses like playing pool table, sports betting instead of involving themselves in agriculture which is profitable.

He finally promised to put more emphasis in industrialization as one of the ways to reduce on the high rate of unemployment with in the country.

 

Museveni was addressing the public at Mulago where 36 people were confirmed dead and 26 critically injured in the fuel tanker fire at Namungona on Saturday night.

Presidency Minister, Frank Tumwebaze is expected to announce Museveni's financial contribution today at Uganda Media Centre.
