Somalia: Damu Jadid bought weapons from Ethiopia
Mogadishu {Sunatimes} Waagacusub Media has learnt that the religious sect of the Somali President Hassan Mohamud bought large quantity of weapons from Ethiopia
The consignment which is costly was signed by Somali Ministers for Defense Abdihakim Fiqi, and Minister for the Presidency Farah Abdulkadir.
Weapons include:
50 DSHK Machine guns, 3000 BKM Machine guns, 4000 AK-47 rifles, and three million of different types of ammunitions.
According to the agreement, Ethiopian defense forces were to deploy weapons to Baidoa, but they were partially airlifted to Mogadishu, and subsequently Ethiopian air force plane which was carrying the weapons crashed at Mogadishu airport of Somalia.
Details about the loss, and how the weapons are to be shared within the Somali Federal Government are still sketchy, but anonymous sources confirmed that the rest of the consignment will be deployed to Baidoa town of Bay region.
Uganda President Yoweri Museveni became annoyed on Damu Jadid's act and their lack of respect into the agreed terms. He previously agreed to sell weapons to Islamist group ,Damu Jadiid at a cheaper price. For instance, he was about to sell an AK-47 at $ 130, while Ethiopia sold the same gun at $ 390.
Many People are skeptical about what the Somali Government could do with such a large supply of weapons, at a time Somalis are fed up with countless number and types of weapons in the wrong hands.
