We are also promoting production and value addition of nutritious food such as Orange Flesh Sweet Potatoes,Quality Protein Maize,Poultry,Piggery and Oil seeds on top of beans.
In-spite of our good work on the ground and better still being at the grass root ,American Embassy cannot give us funds to promote production of nutritious food but would prefer giving such monies to Janet Museveni relatives who already have!!! WOW THE WORLD IS VERY UNJUST
Take malnutrition message to villages, Janet advises officials

Kampala- The First Lady, Ms Janet Museveni, has asked stakeholders in the fight against malnutrition to increase sensitisation at grassroots where the information is needed.
Ms Museveni, the Minister for Karamoja Affairs, said information should be given to the right people rather than confining it in seminars where most participants are aware of their nutritional needs and those of their children.
"The problem is that we talk to people who already know what we are saying, yet most of our people in villages do not know that under nutrition can lead to irreversible damage to children's physical and mental development," Ms Museveni said while launching the new Uganda Production for Improved Nutrition project in Kampala yesterday.
The $22 million (Shs56 billion) five-year US funded-project, aims at reducing the burden of under-nutrition among vulnerable groups of children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people living with HIV/Aids and orphans.
Mr Brian Rwabwogo, the project chief of party RECO Uganda, the organisation which is implementing the programme, said the funds were being used to produce therapeutic and supplementary foods to treat children who are malnourished.
"We are also using the funds to strengthen the supply and distribution of these foods in the 103 health facilities across 62 districts in Uganda as well as supporting small scale farmers to improve agricultural practices," Mr Rwabwogo said.
The project will also benefit more than 150,000 farmers in the districts where malnutrition is common.
It will empower them on how to maximise the available land to produce food both for the dietary needs of their families and improve their income.
The US Ambassador, Mr Scott DeLisi, said the project will ensure that food is grown and produced in the country.
"We must start with methods that are scientifically proven to be effective such as breastfeeding, appropriate feeding practices and fortifying foods given to children and mothers with essential vitamins and minerals," Mr DeLisi said.
Cases of malnutrition in Uganda
33 per cent: Number of children under five years who are stunted, according to the 2011 Uganda Demographic Health Survey with Karamoja, Busoga and western regions as worst hit.
60 per cent: The percentage by which under nutrition contributes to child mortality in Uganda.
