You must have noticed that yesterday morning we went offline with on suspended account due to fraudulent activities which were, unbeknown to us, going on behind the scenes. Once a credit card which didnt bear my names popped up in use on our billing account with Hostgator (our hosting service provider), an investigation immediately started and I was asked to send in photographs my photo ID and the registered credit card to verify my details. The suspected card was indeed found to be a stolen one belonging to a person the investigators were not at liberty to tell us.

However, we were saved by the bell because we were about to lose ownership of this fast growing news blog to the crook who could have claimed it. Had Hostgator not decided on a fast move, the next step could have been for the crook to change contact info and were could have had the website hijacked.

Various frequent website ranking/rating groups and brokers have recently ranked  and estimated Str8talk Chronicles's worth between $325,550 to $560,959. Given these figures are readily available online, we are not surprised by this daring move. We do have suspects of our own whom we will investigate and should Hostgator name the individual, we are sure to make the revelation public.
