A veteran Toronto police officer is facing child pornography charges after information from the Toronto Police Service sparked an investigation.

Police allege that 44-year-old Dariusz Kisielewski used his personal computer to possess child pornography. Investigators searched his home in Mississauga, Ont. last week and arrested him.

The Peel Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit began investigating Kisielewski in July after receiving information from the Toronto Police Service.

Kisielewski is charged with one count each of possession of child pornography and making child pornography, and three counts of voyeurism.

According the Criminal Code of Canada, the charge of making child porn could include making, printing, publishing or possessing the material, but police won't elaborate on the charges against Kisielewski.

"As of right now in the case, we don't have any reason to believe there are any other victims," said Peel Regional Police Const. Fiona Thivierge.

Toronto police won't give any more details, but confirm that Kisielewski has been suspended with pay.

Kisielewski, a veteran officer with 22 Division, is listed on Ontario's Sunshine List as a public servant who makes more than $100,000 a year.

Neigbours in Mississauga, who said Kisielewski lives there with his wife, two sons and another family member, said they were surprised by the news.

"I couldn't believe it," neighbour Paul Jolly told CBC News. "When I talk to him he was very, very good. Nicest person I know."

Kisielewski will appear in a Brampton courtroom tomorrow morning to find out if he will be granted bail.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Internet Child Exploitation Unit at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3490, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
