A massive car bomb has exploded outside the United States consulate in Herat, Western Afghanistan. Fighting between militants and security forces continue, and it is not clear whether the militants breached the compound or what happened here, but the American consulate in Heart is under a severe attack. We are getting reports of many injured.  Follow that as it so develops for this is a developing story right now.
