{UAH} 30,000 Ugandans face deportation from UK
Abbey, are you safe?
Ok, but this is what stumbles me about this report. Here is an official at the Ugandan High Commission who has the audacity to criticize UK for "its incompetence" in processing asylum applications lodged by Ugandans.
This official, Mr. Opio, apparently does not understand the fact that by seeking asylum in the UK, these Ugandans are saying the government back home has forced them out of the country, either for fear of their lives or better lives.
So, rather than plead with the 30K Ugandans to return home, by assuring them that the conditions on the ground have changed enough to address their fears, he is asking UK to speed the process and admit Ugandan exiles!
I wonder who he represents here: the government of Uganda, or the asylum seeks!
