{UAH} RESPONSE to GABURUNGYI: Blocking emails on unaalist

Mr Gaburungyi,
1. have YOU  or anyone else in UNAA blocked/banned/removed/suspended any member from unaalist? i.e is there ANY member who can't get/send emails from/to unaalist as a result ANY action on YOUR part?
2. if so, did you first give them a warning?
3. if you have blocked anyone, did you let them defend themselves BEFORE you took away
4. have YOU personally informed ANY member that UNAA had taken away their ability to send/get emails on unaalist?
5. does UNAA have a disciplinary committee?
6. if UNAA doesn't have a disciplinary committee, have YOU told anyone that you'd sent their "case" to such a committee?
7. a few days ago, I told you that I'd contacted memberclicks and they told me that they had NOT gotten any complaints from ANY customer in the past week. Of course I didn't tell them that I belong to unaalist because they don't discuss customer info if you don't provide a customer log in info...which I didn't have. So I told them I just wanted to ask a general question if they were experiencing problems because the organization I belong to was having trouble with emails.
thanks

Subject: UNAALIST Blocking emails on unaalist

Fellow UNAA Members on UNAALIST,

There is no doubt that we continue to suffer intermittent interruption of our email list service - UNAALIST. I would like to reassure all of you that there is not now and there has never been and will never be any design or operation in place to block emails which are deemed to favor any shade of opinion or category. If any emails have been blocked it is PURELY due to a technical failing in our List service. I have submitted several support tickets and it would be very helpful if you sent copies of emails that have not come through to info@unaa.org along with the time stamp and the sender and receiver details. I forward those to the support folks as examples of emails which are being blocked.

But once again this problem affects everyone. From the complaints I have received it affects all shades without any bias and even people who listen to Badilisha get affected. Folks there is no smoke here.

If I may so indulge you my fellow UNAA members, in order for anyone to block emails in the alleged fashion, one so awkwardly inclined would need to snoop into and read all emails and then decide what to let through and what not to let through. Like most of you, the leaders on the UNAA Executive team have other commitments and have neither the time nor interest to moderate UNAALIST.

Thank  you

Gaburungyi

here are my personal observations on blocking members:
1. the blocking seems to mostly affect people that not in Brian's camp.
2. the blocking is done anonymously. Last week, I responded to an email from Mr Kamugisha and I told him that no was being blocked since Mr Gaburungyi had sent us emails saying that it was a general problem affecting everyone. I have since learned that members have actually been blocked and petitions have been lodged with the BoT. Since the Executive is now ignoring the BoT, I am not sure what good it does to appeal to the BoT.
3. blocked members are being referred to a NON existent disciplinary committee.
4. there is NO warning before someone is blocked.
5. we don't know WHO has been blocked. As such, we can't tell how fair the decision has been.
6. the affected members are NOT informed that they have been blocked (I have been blocked a few times). That is why it has taken a while for many to know if they have been blocked since the blocking has been intermittent.  Except for Harriet Zaffoni who got an email from Mr Gaburungyi informing her that he'd blocked her, none of the other affected members got a msg from UNAA. The only way they found out was after calling Mr Gaburungyi.
I doubt that what is written by victims of the blockage had much effect on the decision to be blocked. Several people on the Dallas camp have been saying inappropriate things (on many occasions they have said worse) but we have NEVER seen them condemned by folks in Brian's that have come to condemn inappropriate language.
thanks
