{UAH} The Hague Convention on Uganda: 28-30 November, 2013
The chairperson of the organizing committee has asked me to reach out to as many Ugandans at home and abroad as possible and let them know that the meeting will take place in The Hague, The Netherlands, from 28 through 30 November 2013. I have already issued a press release.
From tomorrow until the start of the meeting, I will be talking about it on Radio Munansi at www.radiomunansi.com and writing about it. We hope this conference will attract Ugandans from all walks of life and a balance struck that will facilitate consensus building. This is not and should not be a meeting about fighting for positions. It is an exploratory meeting about how various groups at home and abroad can come together for a common cause. We hope a consensus communiqué will be issued at the end of the convention to mark the beginning of preparing for a transitional government for all Ugandans.
The scope of the conference should be broader and not limited to NRM government. The process of selecting participants needs to be truly transparent. It may therefore be necessary to be informed of the criteria used in all aspects of the conference including side events.
It would also be helpful to receive the draft agenda and a concept note for the conference well in advance of the conference.
Should you have questions or clarification, please contact Mr. Joel Wakayima at jwakayima@yahoo.com.
