PRESS RELEASE
Following my refusal to apologize for crimes that have never been
particularized, President Museveni has sanctioned political
machinations to oust me before the end of this month.
Since Justice Zehurikize ruled that the current Authority (Council)
lacks legal capacity to impeach the Lord Mayor because it is not fully
constituted, Dr. BadruKigundu has been directed to conduct snap
elections for Councillors representing the four professional bodies.
The sham election is scheduled for 19th November at Hotel Africana and
it's only the Executive Committee members of those bodies-ranging
between 8 to 10 - who shall constitute the electoral colleges.
It is a pity that even the governing council of the Uganda Law Society
which had initially contested the legality of the said election has
been finally cajoled into this fraudulent exercise.
Several practicing advocates petitioned for an extra ordinary general
assembly to handle the same but up to now a notice to that effect has
not been issued!!!
Meanwhile, Justice Bamugemereire has been instructed to release the
Tribunal Report which they have been tinkering with for several
months.
The Report will be handed over to Hon. Frank Tumwebaze between 13th
and 15th November 2013 at a press conference at the media centre.
On that same occasion Hon. Frank Tumwebaze will announce a date for
the Authority Meeting, which shall be between 20th and 25th November
2013 to move the impeachment motion.
Arrangements have been finalized for each Councilor to be given
USD.10,000 (Ug.Shs. 25 Millions) which they demanded for to support
the motion. Interestingly, our constitutional cause for injunctive
orders which was filed way back in September 2013 is yet to be fixed
our incessant movements and appearances before the Registrar
notwithstanding.
I will inevitably continue to resolutely defend the will of the people
who elected me into this office, but I wish to assure President
Museveni and his proxies that I am prepared for a by-election and rest
assured my mandate shall be renewed.
I therefore urge President Museveni and his team to prepare their
candidate for a show down. All i am craving for is fair play and
respect for the Rule of Law.
