The former mistress of General David Petraeus has started using her notoriety to gain attention for a cause close to her heart.
Paula Broadwell, the former CIA director's biographer, gave a speech at the Charlotte, North Carolina Rotary Club to raise awareness about ways that civilians can help members of the military transition into life in America after returning from abroad.
The Charlotte Observer reports that Broadwell was at the center of the scandal last November that forced Petraeus to resign as director of the country's top intelligence agency.
