While Bunyoro-Kitara has great personalities who have performed extra-ordinary feats, and their biographies are nearing completion, the kingdom has the oldest, priceless, cultural, tourist attraction asset unmatched in Africa; THE NYAMYARO THRONE LEFT BEHIND BY ABACWEZI KINGS OVER 1000 YEARS AGO.
Only kings, dressed culturally in bark clothes only, bare feet, can sit on it. The cultural ceremony to sit on it i performed only nce a month when the moon appears(omu masumi).
The sitting ceremony is performed by special elders representing special clans. It is accompanied by cultural drumming of amakondeere and other traditinal musical instruments.
The Nyamyaro composition is a one-thousand year old secret known only by very few palace personnel.
The attached picture shows Nyamyaro in its glory surrounded by Royal Regalia made up of royal spears made from locally mined irone ore in Bunyoro-Kitara. Such Royal Regalia is not available anywehre in Uganda;s cultural sites.
Hence, if the tourism aspect is developed, and information brochures written, showing this is the throne only 27 kings, including Kaabaleega,have sat, and published THE NYAMYARO has the potential to attract vfisitors even from overseas.
