{UAH} Military and Security Sudanese Army seizes rebels''s weapons after entering their territories


KHARTOUM, Jan 11 (KUNA) -- The Sudanese army announced on Saturday that it seized weapos of a battalion of rebels from South Sudan after they entered the Sudanese territories to escape from government troops.
An infantry battalion force from Nuer, the tribe of former South Sudan's vice-president Rick Machar, entered the Sudanese border from Heglig area on January 9 fleeing from South Sudan army forces near Bentiu, the regional capital of oil-rich Wehda State, Military Spokesman Al-Sawarmi Khaled Saad said in a statement.
"We dealt with them with all determination, seizing weapons and gears of 54 soldiers," he said and added that they were treated as refugees. Other forces returned to South Sudan after they refuse to lay down their weapons.
Saad confirmed that their territory was now free from foreign troops. He said the international law was the best way to deal with similar situations.
Last night, South Sudan government forces have managed to regain control of Bentiu city, after a battle that lasted for more than two hours between with rebel forces. (end) hhi.mb KUNA 112329 Jan 14NNNN
