{UAH} Dinner Cruise Contract Approval Vote - Action Required

Mr Wakou,
1. Under what Article are we acting as members?  I have not seen any provision in the constitution that addresses action by members without a meeting.
2. Article 11.11 of UNAA's constitution provides that "All contracts, leases and other instruments involving financial commitments shall follow standard procurement procedures in North America which, at a minimum, shall include openly advertising for bids by qualified service or material providers". Was there open competitive bidding? You did not attach the contracts.  How will I know the details and fairness of the terms?

thanks

Subject: Dinner Cruise Contract Approval Vote - Action Required

Dear Joseph,
The UNAA Constitution sets you the members as the supreme organ of the Association. The same constitution also assigns the responsibility to approve policies, programs and legally binding commitments to the Members representatives on the UNAA Council.
Despite every effort allowed in the constitution the, UNAA Council has not able to meet and carry out its role since we were elected 5 months ago. UNAA is greater that each one of us and UNAA's Mission must go on.
I am therefore inviting you the members, the supreme organ of UNAA to vote on the contract for the dinner cruise at the next UNAA Convention in San Diego.
The are two choices before you.
1. Should UNAA enter in a contract (Details below) to provide a dinner cruise at the convention in San Diego? This is how all boat cruises have been managed and it allows UNAA to remain the supreme decision making authority.
Or
2. Should UNAA transfer this responsibility to an interested private entity, evaluated, approved and Marketed by UNAA?

You are a UNAA Member and you have one final vote in this matter. You will need to login to UNAA.ORG and got to Convention menu option on the left and then select "San Diego Dinner Cruise Poll" to vote OR simply click here to go to the voting page.

IMPORTANT: Voting closes at Midnight on Thursday February 6th 2014.
