{UAH} A doomed South Sudan
Obviously Col Garang departure form the face of the earth is still mysterious. Many quarters still point fingers to Museveni. For those in the know say that on the unfortunate day, Garang and Museveni parted on a bad note. How unfortunately convenient. Garang wanted a united confederated Sudan, M7 wanted a South Sudan nation. At that time Kony was his problem and he believed that a separate Sudan would enable him to contain the Kony and any future threat to his power which he intends to keep till death do the needful. M7 has always kept thousands of troop fighting alongside SPLA. He gave them a open life line. Many a time bragging how his "boys" had "massacred" Bashir's boys.
Whether that was the point of disagreement or not but he certainly found a mate in Kirr. Modestly if not barely educated but not enough to grasp the complexities of nation building and statecraft, M7 has found a partner in crime.
Atleast the British had left Uganda a very acceptable level of development which has been completely run down by the M7 regime. South Sudan may not be so lucky. With nothing, and all the oil wealth, 20 years from now we are likely to find Kirr still in power, a completely subjugated poor populace and a small clique of wealthy individuals either related or connected to the president in one way or the other.
South Sudan is doomed.
