Days after National Resistance Movement Parliamentary caucus resolved to front President Museveni as a sole candidate for 2016, polls, an official party league has resolved to nominate Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi for the same post. 
The NRM Youth league through its national executive committee revealed this morning (Tuesday) that what transpired in Kyakwanzi when party MPs endorsed Mr Museveni was illegal because it contravenes the other party structures that stipulates on how a candidate is chosen.

"We want to take this opportunity as NRM youth league executive committee on behalf of the NRM youth league structures from village to national level to reject the Kyakwanzi illegal resolution and ask all NRM youth and all NRM party cadres to condemn the Kyakwanzi position" reads the statement signed by Omodo-Omodo on behalf youth league today (Tuesday) at Makerere guest house.

Omodo is the NRM youth league in charge of northern Uganda and a member of National Executive Committee of the party.
Omodo said the resolution was adopted by a wrong forum (Parliamentary caucus) because it has no mandate under the party constitution to adopt such a matter.
The youth said although Mbabazi signed the resolutions, they have resolved as youth to market him across the country as their favorite candidate to take on Museveni in order to avoid dictatorial tendencies in the party. For more details get a copy of Daily Monitor tomorrow
