{UAH} SPLA general wounded in Malakal fighting

General Johnson Ulony has been wounded during fighting in Malakal, state capital of Upper Nile, which came under attack yesterday.
Maj-Gen. Ulony sustained an injury to his neck, according to an informed source who preferred anonymity. The same source estimated the attacking forces that overran part of the city yesterday numbered 30,000.
Col. Philip Aguer, spokesman for the army, yesterday described the attacking force as a 'white army' of civilians mobilized in Ulang, Nasser and Maiwut of Upper Nile State, and Ayod and northern Waat counties in Jonglei State.
Ulony, a former SSDM/A rebel amnestied by President Kiir in April 2013, is one of the leading figures of western Upper Nile to side with the government in the current crisis. Several other top leaders from the same area, including Oyai Deng and Pag’an Amum, are associated with the opposition.
