Mr. Nicholas Nsubuga Masaazi

 12/11/1953 - 2/16/2014

 

 

On behalf of Mrs. Jane Masaazi and family of Bellerose New York, it is with great sadness to announce the death of her husband, our brother and friend, Nicholas Nsubuga Masaazi who is fondly referred to by his siblings as “Musa”.  He passed away at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital, in New Hyde Park, NY, on Sunday, February 16, 2014 after a long battle of heart complications.

Musa was born on December 11, 1953, at Mpigi, Bulemezi, Luwero District, Uganda and was the third child of Y. Nsubuga Masaazi and Lusi Nalweyiso Nsubuga and the grandson of Benjamin Masaazi of Nakulabye, Kampala, Uganda.

 

Musa attended Tweyanze Primary School and, he completed his primary education at Old Kampala Junior School. He then joined and completed his Ordinary level education at Mengo Senior Secondary School. He eventually came to the United States and attended Hellenic College, Brookline, MA where he graduated with a degree in business administration. He has been a very active member of the Ugandan community in New York CityTri-State area. He was headmaster at the Ggwangamujje NY/NJ Inc. Luganda School at Uganda House, Manhattan. He served at this school from 2001 – 2003.

 

He is survived by his wife, Jane Nsubuga Masaazi and his children; Richard Miiro, Jennifer Nansubuga, twin daughters Babirye and Nakato, Lusi Masaazi and Moses Masaazi, Jr.  Musa is survived by the following siblings: Godfrey Nsubuga, Rebecca Nsubuga Kintu, Rachel Nsubuga Sampong, Sara Nsubuga, Deborah Nsubuga, Steven Nsubuga Masaazi, Paul Muwanguzi Nsubuga and brothers and sisters in-law. Musa is predeceased by his parents and younger brother, Apollo Naluleka Nsubuga. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends both in the USA and in Uganda.

Arrangements are underway to take him home and be laid to rest next to his father, mother and younger brother at the family home at Tweyanze, Bulemezi, Luwero District their ancestor’s burial place.

 

The Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, February 22, 2014 as following:

Viewing:          1:00pm - 2:00pm
Service:           2:00pm - 3:30pm

Repast:           4:00pm - 6:00pm

 

All will be held at the Trinity Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church (Anglican)
