{UAH} Ugandan police is increasingly looking like a personal force.

Fellow Ugandans,

The Ugandan police has definitely lost its purpose and Identity as a world class police force which is meant to enforce the law of the sovereign as constitutionally mandated.
This erosion of dutifulness has been growing for quite sometime -they were weakened during Idi Amin's times, where their hands were tied while folks were killed with little or no investigations taking place.

Now the pendulum has yet swung in the wrong direction, they have been militarized and indeed armed with all the weapons that repress freedoms and democracy- but with less concern of investigating and completing politically motivated deaths in the country.
For so long we have waited for reports from the police of many high profile murders that have occurred in broad day light in the country, but nothing professional ever comes out of their investigations!
Great leading officers of this once proud force like the late Oryema, Majalya, Rwakanengere, who saw the hand off from the British, not so long ago would indeed turn in their graves -if they could only see the narrower less sophisticated path taken by the current officer core-it is completely unworthy of a vital body expected to preserve the legal integrity of all Ugandans regardless of tribe, religious or Party affiliation.

Either they are so close to the Present regime to continually harass and frustrate any healthy democratic freedoms that surface from the opposition -or they have completely lost their legal obligation and become a personal force which is merely executing personal orders from the executive!
