February 1972: Nyerere and Amin accept Nairobi's mediation.
'An interlude between very serious matters. General Idi Amin surrounded by fellow-muslims eager to shake hands. The time has not yet come for President Amin to shake Dr. Julius Nyerere's hand. But as a result of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta's intervention, the Uganda and Tnazania Presidents have agreed to be good neighbours and work together in the East African Community. Allah be praised, as the Muslims in the picture seem to be saying.'

2.'Young Moses steals the President's show.
Not quite as planned. The idea was that General Idi Amin should take the salute at the march-past of the band of the King's Own Scottish Borderers. There was no provision for Moses to join him. He simply took it into his young head to amble over and stand by his father's side. Gasps from the spectators. Nothing went amiss... Moses is not a soldier's son for nothing. He seemed to sense the importance of standing very, very still.'
