Floyd has been with the award-winning artist through some of her toughest times this past year. Her pet pooch stood by her side

during her split with her former fiancé Liam Hemsworth, "The Hunger Games" star,

through the backlash over her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, and

has showered her with kisses, which she regularly documents on Instagram.

Floyd passed away just shy of his third birthday ...Cyrus has not released a statement about the cause of death.

The "We Can't Stop" songbird is also the puppy parent to German Shepherd Mate, Rottweiler-beagle mix Happy, Chihuahua mix Bean, and rescue pup Mary Jane, whom she adopted with Hemsworth.

Floyds passing on has been communicated to the world by his parent, Miley Ray Cyrus via Twitter.
