{UAH} JEEMA BARAZAS KICK OFF POSITIVELY
Jeema inaugural Baraza series kicked off on a positive note, with eight opposition parties in attendance. Some other leaders monitored proceedings from a distance, fearing police would as often disrupt an important conversation with teargas. The topic was: Should opposition parties (FDC, UPC, DP, JEEMA, CP and other political forces merge into One single party to end a thirty-year NRM dominance?
The lively topic was intended to stimulate and provoke deep thoughts into Uganda's politics right from its history, present and the future. It investigated some theories such as that from beginning that if KY and UPC had merged and not just formed a coalition perhaps the 1967 debacle couldn't have occurred. That if no action had been taken against Dr Milton Obote I government; he could have ruled for life. That if no action had been taken against Idi Amin life presidency; he could have died in office. That if no concrete action is taken against Yoweri Museveni, he will die in office, despite his pathetic administration policies and interventions. The question is what can that action be? And let the conversation continue...
