{UAH} WE ARE CONTINUING TO DEFEND PRESIDENT IDDI AMIN DADA Sect. 5

Friends

As we move this thread forward, I need to remind you that for a very long time, Uganda president was/and probably still is regarded as the Chancellor of Makerere University. At graduation day all kids lined up and he had to confer those degrees with a sentence starting with “I concur on you the degree of ……….. he puts his chancellor hat on your head, he says ankiyu, you bow and walk away with a degree.  Among the many degrees conferred that day there was a section of students that were not able to show up at the graduation day, and those were conferred in a classification called “in absentia”  So the names are read for the Chancellor and the chancellor waves his chancellery hat declaring how he has conferred the so named degrees to the so named students that have not been able to show up for graduation. There are many reasons why a student fails to show up at graduation, some have got jobs and have started to work, some have travelled out of the country, some have family problems, but some are simply too drunk to show up. Makerere University graduation was a week and half of booze in Kampala and suburbs, and good for them, these kids were investing all their times and lives into classes, I have no problem with that what so ever.

But out of non-reasons, western media and some Kampala media started to report that actually students were refusing on purpose to show up at the graduation for Iddi Amin was not an educated man, he never had a degree therefore it was morally wrong for them to show up and bow after him. And whether there was some truth in this or not is the debate I have not prepared to go into today. What I am going into is a simple fact that the government considered those reports seriously and moved to cancel the section of absentia all together. So if you want the degree you have to show up in front of the chancellor to get it conferred or you will lose it. And I fully supported that move for a very simple reason, Iddi Amin cared about Makerere University forget the nonsense George Okello pumps out about Amin and education.

All degrees conferred by Makerere university under B Killi are to today still valid internationally, and if you qualified in Makerere under Killi and your degree is questionable by any university stand up and speak right now. Makerere University degrees went to the toilet after the departure of Amin. We had specific countries like Morocco Kuwait Jordan and some I have forgotten that were pumping money into Uganda specifically for education. Although Gadhafi was paying mostly for defense, but Libya supported Uganda education at some extent too, so were The Saudis. Uganda students that needed to go abroad and do their thesis were funded by the government and they went, all you needed to do was to bring your school documentation to Crested Towers, they study them that you qualify, they write a covering latter and attach it on, you proceed straight to Nassur Abdulla and he hands you a letter for foreign exchange from bank of Uganda. And many went Moslems non Moslems Banubbi and non Banubbi for the funding was available. And if B Killi knew that you had been refused money to go to school he would walk in with one phone call and you were done, but trust me that never happened for Killi’s latter was final and you bottom line never wanted to question it.

Graduation time arrived and the students that failed to show up yes lost their degrees. Many stared to think it was a joke but there was never a joke in Amin’s government you are required to show up it is a good idea to do so. As years pass by students started to realize that actually Iddi Amin was the constitutional chancellor of Makerere and they showed up. What really baffles me is that many Ugandans failed to realize the time and money Amin pumped into education, I sit in this forum and read such nonsense as Amin abandoned education and he never cared about it. Do you actual know the value of a Makerere University degree today, when you are getting a degree that is in toilet from get go? Makerere degrees are no longer valid and when you walk into this city with that degree, you are on your own. As I post this document if you need a transcript of Makerere University I can get it for you tops 2 days with Museveni’s signature if that is what your employer needs. The charge? No I just need what FedEx charges for a document from Kampala to where you need it. Would you get a manufactured transcript from Makerere University under Amin’s government?  The answer is Hell NO.

Now why is this thread of importance today? I have decided to post it today because many Ugandans wallop into this man as a bad man and a man that destroyed education and so dictatorial for he cancelled the absentia degree. Well fast forward to today in April 2014, we have a University of South Florida Tampa that has raised my interest. South Florida University is an old university that is going to celebrate 50 years of handing out degrees this very first week of May. It is going to be a huge function at the University for all those that got degrees in last 50 years are going to be inducted,  but they are also going to confer degrees to about 6,500 or so students come that weekend, so they have been pilling all of them to make one single confirmation for the silver jubilee. But in preparation of the graduation to take place on 3rd and 4th May, the University has set out some pretty stiff regulations to be followed if you want to get the degree. They have produced a security document with 100 things you cannot do in that graduation, and if you do them they are going to cancel your degree.

Now being a weekend we are all still scrambling to find out the what you can do and what you cannot do if you want a degree and we still have not got it yet. But I have had a chance to talk to a reporter in Tampa Tribune who has told me that they are releasing the list tomorrow for public view, and among the things you can do to cost you the degree are taking a Selfie, Stepping, Marching or Strolling. We are trying to get the whole list but this is a huge list with 100 behaviors that have been declared illegal or you will lose your degree. Note that you will lose your degree if you do them or a member of your family or your guest does them. Is this the first University to take such steps? No The University of Florida asked its graduates to turn off cellphones and other electronics before walking across the stage. Last week, Bryant University in Rhode Island announced a ban on selfies at graduation. So University graduation displine is not a new thing and it was never started by Iddi Amin. The question to you is this simple, California has the most Uganda population so called free speech preachers, why are they not going after these institutions that are asking for a minimum respect? Can you simply imagine the amount of time they have spent going after Iddi Amin in their lives, better yet how much they would have spent if Amin passed such laws.

But you see to most of our degree holders white are Gods.
