{UAH} A COUPLE OF POINTS IF YU ARE IN THE CITY

A} Prime Minister Stephen Harper has appointed Elizabeth Dowdeswell Ontario's new lieutenant-governor. Dowdeswell replaces David Onley, who was appointed lieutenant governor in September 2007 and is the province's longest-serving.

B} It is a Gay weekend in the city and yesterday more than a hundred gay couples participated in a mass wedding at Toronto's Casa Loma in a ceremony considered the first of its kind in Canada. The mass wedding was scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

C} A Toronto man has been found guilty of second-degree murder for killing his ex-girlfriend, cutting up her body and scattering the pieces in the GTA. A jury in Brampton has convicted Chun Qi Jiang in the death of 41-year-old Guang Hua Liu, whose body parts were found in August 2012.

D} The eastbound Gardiner Expressway will be reduced to one lane between Dufferin Street to west of the Dowling Bridge from Thursday, June 26 at 9:30 p.m. to Friday, June 27 at 5:30 a.m. This lane reduction is required to perform paving operations and other work. A similar closure will occur on Sunday, June 29 at 9:30 p.m. to Monday, June 30 at 5:30 a.m.

 

E} The Brampton native went first overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the 2014 NBA Draft. Wiggins played with the Kansas Jayhawks last season, averaging over 17 points per game.

 

F} Fifa hands Suarez a 4 months ban for biting. A muzzle should have been thrown in too, to curb the Dracula of football, from turning complete cannibal. But one would as well argue that soccer needs to be decided as Hockey so that those in camera make the decision not the refreee alone, when FIFA bans a player they are agreeing that a fault was done and the playr should have been suspended. Since it was not done, the entire game should be thrown out and replayed.
