I hear people in Acholi are furious that they are referred to in the national ID verification form as 'Bacholi'. The idiot who did that is causing bad publicity for an otherwise great project.
Our own Pamela Ankunda is the communications officer of the Internal Affairs ministry and knows that the best damage control measure of the moment is write a long, clever apology to all Acholi worldwide, and any 'Oganda', 'Ogichu', 'Ochoga', 'Onyoro' or 'Techo' who may have had their tribe attributed wrongly. Too late and too expensive perhaps to withdraw the whole form altogether. This is not even a spelling mistake but whoever did these must have copied literally what musician Ragga Dee says in his song 'Letter O', where at 'Omucholi, Omulango'.
