{UAH} Invitation for Doing Business in East Africa Forum on TuesdAy, August 5 at EDC.

Dear Business Owner/Public:

The Prince George's County Africa Trade Office is pleased to announce—in partnership with the Eastern Africa Diaspora Business Council (EADBC)—an exciting "Doing Business in East Africa Forum" on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at EDC. Businesses to meet, network and discuss opportunities with high level trade delegations from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. East Africa delegates to President Obama's US-Africa Heads of State Summit consisting of ministers, governors, county planners, administrators and chambers of commerce will present project opportunities across many sectors including Health Care, Energy, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, Finance, ICT and Manufacturing.

In July 2013, President Obama's announced that:

Trade Africa will initially focus on the member states of the East African Community (EAC) -- Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. The EAC is an economic success story, and represents a market with significant opportunity for U.S. exports and investment. The five states of the EAC, with a population of more than 130 million people, have increasingly stable and pro-business regulations. They are home to promising local enterprises that are forming creative partnerships with multinational companies. And EAC countries are benefiting from the emergence of an educated, globalized middle class. Intra-EAC trade has doubled in the past five years, and the region's GDP has risen to more than $80 billion – quadrupling in only 10 years. (The White House Press Secretary, July 1, 2013).
