The increasingly Turkish nature of Ottoman Sultanate garnered nationalist sentiments among Arabs which ultimately facilitated the the destruction of the Ottomans; the alienation of non-Arabs esp the Persians brought down Ummayad Caliphate based in Damascus and the Abbasid rose based in Baghdad. But all these caliphate started as deliverers of justice; this is a lesson for the Muslims that unity must be preferred over nationalist supremacist attitude
