SV: {UAH} Fwd: [AcoliForum] UPDF evicts Pader residents
GOOK, hold on a bit..., PUMP THEM BRAKES AND STOOP TO BREATH!!
That is what I am doing while awaiting more meat to surface.
Anti, this is PADER! Pader is asserted to be one of the monster districts that hs had supersonic structural development this past few years.
This is where Hon Otto hails from. And, don't forget Dr Otto among many.
May be there are some things yet to transpire. Why were they being evicted? Is there a development project on the making?

Allan,
Since 1986? They are free to kill loot and offer anything for free to " investors"!
Don't discourage development...this is as has always been part of the vision!

Since when did UPDF own land in pader? On Nov 10, 2014 10:07 AM, "Ochan Otim" <ootim1@gmail.com> wrote:----NATIONALUPDF evicts Pader residents
PaderThe army in Pader District has evicted residents who it said had settled on their land illegally.Officers from the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) 5th Division based at Acholi Pii, Pader District carried out the operation in which they demolished several structures. The eviction, which began on Tuesday, saw 20 households in Akemokoch village, Kilak Sub-county destroyed. The area chairperson, Mr Mathew Onyac, in an interview with Daily Monitor, said UPDF soldiers entered the area at 9:30 am and started demolishing buildings."Our plea that they should follow proper procedure while evicting people fell on deaf ears. They told us that the 5th Division commander, had ordered for the eviction following the loss of a gun and fights between the locals and soldiers in the area," Mr Onyac narrated.Mr Onyac claims the land belongs to the residents and UPDF was only hosted in the area in 2002.
The division spokesperson, Capt Telephor Turyamumanya, confirmed the eviction. He, however, denied that civilian property was destroyed."In this area, there were only temporary structures for both soldiers and civilians and we gave a notice that expired last month (October)," Capt Turyamumanya said.
The land in question measures 12.6 square miles.
