{UAH} Police force for Hire?

According a senior officer, a police signaller laid the plot and contacted several people to execute it. However, he chose to keep a back seat as he coordinated the plot.
Police intelligence got to know of the plot and sent a spy who recorded them while planning the last move.
"We left them to continue with their plan and then lay a trap at the scene (Kampala Casino). Four suspects moved to Kampala Casino after getting information that the money had been brought in," the officer said.
When the suspects entered casino premises, the officers in civilian clothes put them on gunpoint and they cooperated.
As the arrest was going on, the police operatives called the Commander of Kampala Metropolitan Police South to arrest the mastermind, who was at Katwe Police Station waiting for proceeds from the robbery

==============

The working routine of police officers etc., should change. Our police officers are shamelessly, too local and the environment they work into!

The time has come to get help from non-police  investigators (Police scholars and researchers - criminologists, anthropologists, sociologists & psychologists) get involved into investigating some of the;  unresolved crimes, those committed into the past and long term study of crime patterns  now and into the future.

I have heard that some police officers and other big wigs own taxis (which is ok)  but  these are immune to any sort of traffic offenses - especially those on Kampala-Ntida-Nakawa route! This form of injustice is completely amazing. And of course it will follow that some police officers have business aside which are equally above the law.

The thing is, every body in Uganda is struggling to have a good life by whatever means but some have more rights than others!

Uganda is a very open society today, coupled with informal institutions of former soldiers, paralegal militia groups termed as security groups, armed with automated weapons,  majority people deep in poverty and the rich (read thieves/corrupt) recklessly yearning for more riches triggering all sorts of crimes; murder, robbery and other such vices - what we have seen so far is a tip of the iceberg.

At this rate - Uganda does not have a police force! I have heard people who have been robbered in Kampala suburbs alleging that "one of the robber is police officer !"
