{UAH} GASHUMBA IS REAL UNGRATEFUL!!!!!!

Gashumba should not rubbish Baganda, who with open arms provided them refuge. He should have changed his name in the first place. He has a brother in Mulindwa with their "arrogance for the moment attitude". They make monkeys of historical and future trends.

Only 2 days after posting on Facebook that native Baganda will be the bapakasi (manual laborers) in the future Buganda, Mr. Frank Gashumba went on NTV Uganda and bragged that Banyarwanda have infiltrated the most powerful families by marrying into them and anyone talking about them (Banyarwanda) leaving Uganda was mentally sick.

Gashumba was speaking as the guest on the NTV Uganda program Koona ne NTV, hosted by one Miles Rwamiti. Several minutes into the show the host received a text message from a member of the audience named Eric saying, "Go back to Rwanda." Gashumba, who seemed to be well prepared for that type of attack call, immediately shot back, starting with "That rat is telling me to go back to Rwanda…"

He continued with a tirade which lasted over 30 minutes, not even allowing the host to put in a word edgewise. First, he said,  "Jews have been in America and they became American citizens. My grandparents left Rwanda in 1923; my father and mother were born in Uganda; I was born in Uganda and my children have been born in Uganda."

Raising his voice, he went on with, "If you are on NTV thinking that the Gashumba's will ever go back to Rwanda then you are [mentally sick] and should be taken to Butabika Hospital. We are here to stay! And I want everyone who is saying negative things about Banyarwanda to know, you mistreated our ancestors so much you must be joking if you think that you will get a chance to do the same to the Gashumbas too."

"Saying that you can ever chase a Munyarwanda from Uganda is like saying that you can chase the whites out of South Africa, which is impossible. Saying that you can chase Banyarwanda from Uganda is the same as saying that you can chase the black people from America," he warned.

Slowing down a bit, Gashumba smiled and told Rwamiti, "Now, get this, we have infiltrated you people. There isn't a single major family where Banyarwanda have not been married. We have married into every major family here." And when Rwamiti asked him if he was proud of the fact that Banyarwanda have married into all major families, Gashumba immediately said "Yes" and went on to explain, "Banyarwanda have those long [beautiful] necks. Why do you think you skip your own women and marry ours?"

Later on in the interview, Mr. Gashumba seemed to be conflicted when he told the host that his grandparents came all the way to Buganda because Baganda are the only people who welcomed them with open hands. "Many Banyarwanda refugees came to Buganda after being mistreated and chased away by Banyankole and Bakiga. Indeed, many of our people were pushed into Lake Mburo by Bakiga, where they drowned and died."

At one point in the interview Rwamiti teased Gashumba over the fact that most Uganda Radio stations have blacklisted him because of his controversial statements, which many people, especially Baganda, claim to be inciting. Gashumba brushed it off, saying that the radios that blacklisted him are the ones with small audiences. BugandaWatch has learned that Mengo's CBS Radio FM and NTV are some of the few broadcast houses where Gashumba is still welcome.

Mr. Frank Gashumba, who frequently talks about his pride in being both Rwandese and Ugandan, has warned Baganda that they will be the casual laborers of the future in Buganda (see Frank Gashumba Tells Baganda, You are the Future Casual Laborers in Buganda).

Baganda reactions to Gashumba's predictions on the Internet have been mostly outrage, based on the discussion lists and Web radio stations that BugandaWatch closely monitors.  However, there are also some minority of people using Baganda names and non-Baganda who seem to like and support Gashumba's messages to Baganda. What is clear is that Gashumba has touched a raw nerve among Baganda with his "the emperor has no clothes" talk. The question is whether most Baganda will look at him like an innocent truth-teller or as one of the gang-robbers, who is returning to the crime scene, to mock the victims about their miserable situation.
