{UAH} MULINDWA'S ACHOLI PR WORK!!

Much as Mulinded is chided, scolded and his head constantly held down in the sewer, he has to be credited for his PR work on behalf of Acholi. 

The world over, the boundaries of great nations were drawn in blood, curved by swords, arrows and spears. The process involved gruesome cruelty, that words will never fully describe. From the history of the Zulus warriors to the Ottoman empire, nation and empire building meant that people had to be conquered and in the process, subjected to death and untold suffering. In his submission, he constantly portrayed Acholi's aggression, depicting Acholi people in the minds of others as war like and violent. In many regions of the world this depiction is romantic.. Uganda is no different, where war heroes are celebrated and in equally in Acholi, titles such as "moi" is accorded to one who liquidates a foe. Again, this form of extolling is not unique to Acholi, but the world over.

The romance and obsession with cruelty and aggression has curved Hollywood a place in history and a status to go with. There is no doubt, the depiction of the cowboys killing Red Indians or American natives in films, has made being a cowboy a dream of every growing boy. Much as Mulindwa has set himself to smear the whole Acholi as a tribe, he has inadvertently, created a folklore around Acholi, that will keep Acholi in minds of millions of people in years to come.

The muchanganyiko of admiration, fear and romance that he has helped mix, will one day be put in films; depicting among others, the Acholi resisting being colonised and not signing an equivalent of 1900 agreement to be subjugated. Instead, their violent instinct set in to resist the colonisers; and resist they did! 

Acholi should be grateful to Mulindwa for showing the world that Acholi truly have the bile that would make others shudder with fear and admiration in equal measure. This sole ingredient for nation and empire building that Acholi possess should now be redirected to a much different purpose. Development, and very potently so. Perhaps some day, in one hundred years time, Mulindwa will return to yet again, write about Acholi economic aggression.
