SV: {UAH} Why was this done to our Kabaka
Mw. Ssekajja and fellow UAH folks,
First, I think Kabaka MUTEBI is living under the steps in the right directions forward to modern era since, he lives in the different periods than the one which his father, mother and grandparents. In simple language he is a man who lives in modern era, nothing less and nothing more!
Second, I hope and think sitting down among fellow human beings shows being secured under sense of freedom and peaceful coexistence among your liked minded folks. There exists no sense of superiority but friendship atmospheres!
Lastly, I hope my brother Okello DOKOLO must not have some sense of fear when he lives with his fellow liked minded folks. He can even sit down with his folks at the village compound without any fear!

A throne is more a symbol of sovereignty, and not a material portable seat of power. A king remains a king, wherever he is. Sitting down in a well composed nature, is indeed part of our Baganda culture, but a real nightmare for those of not trained to do so.
Training does it, looking at those clerics on the king's right. Katikiro Mayiga on the left of the Kabaka would be pushing it, sitting with his arm supporting him. This is called 'olukono', unacceptable behaviour especially during dinner time.

It's part of the Islamic culture, George! In the Baganda the Kabaka sits on a throne.
Sent from my iPhone--Is it part of Buganda culture to sit on the floor? I have bad knees and would never be able to sit down on the floor. I am so worried of returning to Uganda because I can't use a pit latrine anymore. These traditions need to change with the times, because I don't see any logical reason why adults should sit on the floor, unless there are no chairs.George Okello--On Sun, Feb 1, 2015 at 1:22 PM, 'Ssekajja' via Ugandans at Heart (UAH) Community <ugandans-at-heart@googlegroups.com> wrote:Looks like time for Magulunyondo to flex his muscles!Thank God he looks at home among his Moslems subjects!A united Buganda is formidable!!!!Ssekajja
