{UAH} Death Annoucement | Assistant Inspector General of Police, Julius Shariita Dies In New York. -

The Mission of Uganda to the United Nations in New York, with regret, announces the loss of a dear friend and valued colleague, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Julius Shariita.

Mr. Shariita passed away at 11:15pm on Friday February 13th 2015 at the New York University Hospital in New York, following a long battle with Cancer. He has been attached to this Mission as Minister Counsellor and Police Adviser in Charge of United Nations Police Peacekeeping Matters.

There will be a short memorial service at Trinity St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 311 Huguenot Street, New Rochelle, NY 10801 on Monday February 16th from 3:00-5:00pm (tbc).

His body shall be repatriated to Uganda for burial at his ancestral home in Kyankukwe Mitooma. Further details will follow.
Mr. Julius Shariita will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time and our hearts and prayers go out to them.
